SINGAPORE MARITIME SERVICES GUIDE 2017/2018
Message
lobally, the Port of Singapore is known to be one of the world’s busiest ports and a top bunkering
Singapore’s International Maritime Centre (IMC), which comprises the shipping and maritime services sectors, has also grown considerably over the years. Today, Singapore is home to more than 130 international shipping groups as well as leading players in the areas of ship management, finance, broking, insurance, law and arbitration. Ranked as the world’s leading maritime capital in a study conducted by Menon Economics in 2015, Singapore provides a range of maritime products and services, according to the needs of the industry and shifting economic climate.
Through the tripartite co-operation between the industry, government and unions, we can retain our competitiveness by bettering our efficiency, productivity, infrastructure and ancillary services. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) will continue to work closely with our industry stakeholders to plan ahead and implement measures to keep our current standing as a premier global hub port and leading international maritime centre.
On that note, I hope that this copy of the Singapore Maritime Services Guide 2017/2018 will come in handy for you in fostering new partnerships, strengthening your existing collaborations, and last but not least, collectively contributing to the growth of Maritime Singapore.
